Figures we measure against on site. Where a number comes from a published code or guideline, it is named; where it comes from a nameplate, read your own nameplate.

Tolerances on these sheets are our own working service figures, not manufacturer specifications. Where a job touches a gas connection, a dedicated circuit or a sealed refrigeration circuit, it carries its own conditions — epa section 608 certified technicians for refrigerant work, and a licensed contractor for anything structural or electrical in the house itself.
What does the work these sheets decide cost before anyone has seen it?
Two figures decide this, and the schedule below carries both. The first is $80: a technician and a meter in front of the appliance, taken off the bill the moment you approve the repair. The second depends on which band the fault turns out to sit in — parts and labour counted together, this shop's book for St. Johns County, read off jobs of that class rather than off a manufacturer list.

A written estimate comes before any part is ordered or any labor is billed. A band says where this class of work usually lands. It is not a quote, and three things move a job inside it: how the appliance has to be reached, whether the part is stocked or ordered, and whether the number on the plate has been superseded since. What a reference sheet is, and is not
- Are these figures the manufacturer specification?
- No. They are this shop's working service tolerances, and each sheet names where its number came from — a published code, a guideline, or a measurement taken on site. Read your own data plate for anything specific to your model; the plate wins over any sheet here.
- What does measuring first save me?
- The cost of a part that was never the fault. A component tested on an appliance with a restricted air path or a cold supply gives an honest reading of the wrong situation, and the repair fails again in a season. The $80 diagnostic buys that measurement.
- Do any of these sheets cover the house rather than the appliance?
- They stop at the appliance. Duct runs, makeup-air paths and dedicated circuits appear here because they decide whether a machine can work, but a change to the building itself is a licensed contractor's job and we will say so rather than sell a motor for it.
Visits that turned on a measurement

The fridge side crept warm while the freezer stayed hard as a rock. It was the defrost heater and not the refrigerant. He pulled the panel, tested the three parts in that circuit and was finished by lunch.

The oven died the day after a self-clean, which he said on the phone was the usual pattern. It was the thermal cutoff. One visit, an inexpensive part, and advice not to run that cycle before a holiday.

Self clean would not start and the oven threw a lock error at us. He rebuilt the latch mechanism and fitted a new motor, and the cycle runs. The first appointment had to be moved, which was the only sore point.

Viking kitchen appliances — and nothing mechanical in the house
Greenleaf Appliance Service repairs built-in kitchen appliances — the Viking equipment specified into a kitchen and installed in it, plus the outdoor cooking equipment that was specified with it. Home heating, air conditioning, heat pumps, air handlers and the ductwork that serves them are not work this shop takes, in Nocatee or anywhere else inside the radius. A hood duct, a condenser air path and the cooling load on a built-in are appliance work and we measure all three; the house's own mechanical systems belong to a mechanical contractor.
Viking on this site is the kitchen-appliance manufacturer. There is also a place called Viking in Indian River County, well south of St. Johns County; this shop does not work there, and it does not service heating or cooling equipment anywhere.
